早在70年代，当Ralf Hütter创造了“Electronic Body Music”一词开始，EBM于 20 世纪 80 年代初在西欧发展成为朋克和工业音乐文化的产物。这也让我们很容易提到脱胎于新浪潮时期以合成器为主导的Synth-Pop，Dark wave，Minimal wave，New beat，或是一些其他更为广阔的音乐流派。
Years of Denial以令人难以置信的多样性迅速在该领域站稳脚跟，工业浪潮，暗流EBM，噪音techno，这血流淌在欧洲地下场景骨骼中的精髓融汇为Year of Denial音乐的音速能量。来自英国邪典乐队音乐制作人Jerome和捷克的多媒体声音艺术家Barkosina，两人组成的乐队Year of Denial自2016年成团，便以 “自戕disco”的音乐风格和摄人心魄的现场演出俘获了工业techno乐迷的顶礼膜拜。
近年来，他们与大名鼎鼎的Broken English Club共同推动着欧陆工业音乐的自我革新。而与后者无情且令人胆寒的风格不同，Year of Denial在棱骨分明的techno重节奏之上铺上了Barkosina疏离又厚重的诵念，宛如披上神秘面纱的工业巨兽，在零度的冰面上若隐若现。他们的现场表演不仅收录Boiler Room推荐 19年发行的歌曲Graveyards更与Floating Points等行业巨擎一并入选Mixmag评选的年度之声。

2016年Year of Denial的首张唱片Blood Debts（血债）于Broken English Club的主脑Oliver Ho的厂牌Death & Leisure出版。实验感十足的蜂鸣声墙奠定了他们的音乐理念：虚无主义的可怖和我们对它的抗争。而后相继于当代工业音乐代表厂牌Khemia和Pinkman推出两张单曲中，Year of Denial的歌曲开始出现更加硬朗的节奏和人声。直到19年第一张全长专辑Suicide Disco，他们终于开发出平衡于舞池和实验之间的工业 EBM音浪。
“Disco”原本是光鲜琉璃的怡人舞曲，“Suicide”（自戕）一词却把歌舞升平的美好图景拖进哥特与黑夜里。在这张定义了Year of Denial声音的唱片里，无处不在的高能节奏暗示着后朋克和techno的舞池精神，更不用说工业舞曲传奇Silent Servant，Broken English Club和Orphx也为唱片贡献了绝佳的混音。

而在今年最新推出的Suicide Disco Vol. 2中，他们增加了人声的旋律丰富性，并且大块的合成器也将90年代初的锐舞大进击带进了工业音乐的语境中。巧妙的延续了上一张专辑并在声音之间找到了完美的平衡，迫使我们注意到火焰中的形状并塑造将它成迷人的新结构。
作为工业techno圣地Tresor Club的常客，Year of Denial在23年开启了新一轮的世界巡演。亚洲部分将在端午假期造访 Elevator 上海，同时这也是他们的中国首秀！这头工业诡兽将撕裂的原始狂欢带到到南丹东路地堡的墙壁之内！
本地支持来自常驻上海的EBM制作人 Poison The Vicar，深耕本地合成浪潮多年的“合成迷恋”2/2 Velvet Robot ，Illsee ，冷静的驻场Golgol以及来自Smog的视觉支持。
Years of Denial是法国制作人Jerome Tcherneyan的项目，他曾是英国著名乐队Piano Magic的鼓手，并自1997年开始从事音乐制作。与此同时，还有捷克的多媒体艺术家、词曲创作人Barkosina Hanusova。
二人组自2016年开始活跃，并以其精心打磨的作品和令人兴奋的现场表演而在全球范围内闻名。他们运用硬件设备和大量的混音设备，结合Barkosina独特的声音，重新探索了后朋克、哥特、新节拍、EBM、工业音乐和狂欢文化的黑暗角落。
他们的现场演出注入了节奏鲜明的节拍和脉动的琶音，舞池和实验氛围的两个立面在工业声浪中不断交替。古怪又诡谲的表达在他们的声音宇宙中做到自洽。通过不断变化的现场布景和灯光，在音波的震荡中达到了完美统一。

Years of Denial is the project of French musician Jerome Tcherneyan, in former times drummer of cult British band Piano Magic and music producer since 1997, and Czech performance & music artist, songwriter, and poet Barkosina Hanusova. Active since 2016, the duo has become known across the globe for their well-crafted sharp productions and electrifying live performances.Utilizing hardware and a plethora of dub devices combined with Barkosina’s unmistakable vocals, the pair revisit the dark corners of post- punk, goth, new beat, EBM, industrial, and rave culture. Their live shows inject rhythmic beats and pulsating arpeggios with heavy electronics fused with a spacey psychedelic sonic treatment. Poison the Vicar

Poison the Vicar, a musician hailing from the United States but currently based in Shanghai, combines the deep bass lines of E.B.M. with the raw, intense appeal of industrial and the artistry of darkwave. Poison the Vicar's music draws from personal experiences of trauma and a sense of frustration with humanity's lack of empathy. The songs often offer solace and validation to those who have not found it elsewhere. The debut LP from Poison the Vicar, titled "Necrotic Pose," has gained significant traction in underground goth clubs across Europe and the United States. The album features a collaboration with the esteemed E.B.M. act Leaether Strip on the song "Affront," as well as a remix of "Vision" by Qual (William Maybelline of Lebanon Hanover), featuring Corrosive Candy on vocals. In addition to remixing tracks for other artists in the darkly influenced genre, Poison the Vicar has also worked with Ryder Houston and Voix in the Dark.
Velvet Robot
Synth Crush! 合成迷恋主理人之一，也是Discosmic Adventure的成员， Velvet Robot 在校玩学生乐队时期沉迷各类浪潮盯鞋自赏，也深受CBS/ Intergalactic FM的影响。选曲既怀旧复古又新颖未来， 热爱层层迭起的合成器效果，情绪爆满的人声, 与绝妙丰厚的贝斯节奏。她也曾为Legowelt, Horse Meat Disco, Honey Sound System, Bell Towers, Robert Parker等做暖场表演。Organizing "Synth Crush!” and "Discosmic Adventure" party series, Velvet Robot has been a stubborn fan of synth pop, dark wave, & shoegaze since she played in school bands, and later strongly influenced by CBS/ Intergalactic FM. Her set often mixes nostalgia, retro and future, rich layered synth, emotionally charged vocal and funky juicy bassline. Illsee
Illsee，(学名:老慢) 是一种生长于长江三角洲最东部城市上海的灵长目人科人属及直立行走的物种。与其他高等灵长类动物一样，Illsee是社会性的动物。深受早期工业音乐的影响，擅长用80年代至今的各式流行或非流行歌曲，向其他灵长类动物表达自我、交换意见以及组织。多年来，她和Tzusing一起运营着斯德哥尔摩综合症(Stockholm Syndrome)，从Shelter老巢一直到现在的ALL Club，请来了Beau Wanzer, Container, Shawn O’Sullivan, Das Ding, Phuong Dan, Lena Willikens等艺人。她现在还运营着Aqualung水肺系列派对，致力于推广重型实验Machine-funk音乐。Illsee, scientific name 老慢, is an upright-walking primate, born and raised in the easternmost city of the Yangtze River Delta, Shanghai. Like other primates, Illsee is a social animal. She is known for her skill at using popular and non-mainstream music from the 80s to the present-day to express herself, exchange ideas and organize with other primates.
